Gateway River Park
Gateway River Park is free and open to everyone. Go kayaking, try river surfing, float in a tube, or just kick back on the riverbank and watch the fun. Explore each of the park’s eight unique engineered features and learn more about what you can do at each one.
River surfing is a skill that’s learned step by step. Beginners start with boogie boarding to get a feel for the water, gradually working up to standing on the board. Expert-led lessons teach safety, wave reading, and board handling. Unlike the ocean, the river’s steady flow creates a continuous wave, so surfers can practice anytime without waiting for the next big swell.

Enjoy live music at River Place Plaza or explore over 130 miles of scenic trails. Our interconnected trail loops offer the option of a quick ride with a break for lunch and shopping or a multi-day adventure!
